Hi Doris – Sounds like you and 35 of your neighbors have the same taste Hope it was good.
Some people find it scary, but I’ve never assumed that anything I put online is private – so I’m not concerned, I find it interesting and amazing that ‘they’ can develop software to do that.

Just now I was looking up a recipe on a blog that I enjoy, decided to print it and a pop-up said …

35 people from Ephrata have already tried this recipe!!

No kidding!

I have noticed this for some time. I do a fair amount of online shopping but I stick to a few sites: Amazon, Overstock, Land’s End. I’ll notice that ads from other sites target me based on what I buy (camera equipment, home furnishings). There is no escaping it! At first I felt like you–I’m being stalked–but now it’s just so much background noise. When I need something I might remember that an ad tried to get my business.

Ahhh! So good to hear that a real writer has trouble blogging too! Yes, no failure until we quit! Good words! Helps me slough off some guilt…. Some…. I know I can’t do it as well as I hope to, but blogging is good for me–spiritually, mentally, emotionally. I will also keep trying.

Very interesting. I love organizations that educate the women of the world. I love Greg Mortensen -he says if you educate a boy , you educate an individual when you educate a girl you educate the village. He has written 2 great books about his adventures in building 47 schools in Pakistan and Afganistan- “Threee Cups of Tea” and “Stones Into Schools”. The subtitle of “Stones Into Schools” is Promoting peace with books, not bombs, in Afganistan and Pakistan- I love it !! Janet thanks for all the great books you suggest – I have loved then all.
