What Choices do You Have?

A post for Trust 30 … a 30-day writing challenge I’m participating in.

Today’s Prompt:

Your Personal Message

To believe your own thought, to believe that what is true for you in your private heart is true for all men, that is genius. – Ralph Waldo Emerson

What is burning deep inside of you? If you could spread your personal message RIGHT NOW to 1 million people, what would you say? (Author: Eric Handler)

My Response:

You have choices!

It makes me sad when I see/hear people living with the thought that whatever happens, happens … and they don’t have a choice in the matter. I didn’t believe the big picture of our life or the details of our days are planned out for us. Each person has choices in what the majority of their life looks like.

No, we can’t control everything …

Diseases come.

Accidents happen.

People hurt others.

Weather affects us.

Laws impacts us.

And so on …

But we have choices in how we respond and what steps we take to move forward. I think living like we have no choices ranges from being lazy to being dangerous … to ourselves and/or to others.

Mediate, pray, journal … whatever you do to pause, connect spiritually and be aware of what’s going on inside and around you.  Allow your mind to clear. Seek wisdom.

Read, study, discuss, write … again whatever works for you to learn. Allow yourself to be stretched. To look at situations from a few different angles. Consider your choices. And with the choices you make … love both others and yourself.

New situations generally require renewal to happen … in your body, mind and/or spirit. Allow yourself to make new choices. When hurt by someone, if your default action was to stuff the pain, allow yourself to discuss it with someone you trust. If you default action was to tell everyone you meet … maybe renewal for you means to learn to process it quietly for a time.

Each day is a new day to fully use the body, mind and spirit we have … in making choices that are best for both ourselves and for others.

Since you have control of your own choices … you may or may not agree with me about the control we have over our lives. Use the freedom you have to make a choice and respond below.

Also your turn: What’s one message that you would like a million people to hear?

When I first starte the journey I am currently on since 1989, I absolutely HATED that word ‘choice’.  Now, I look back and think how ridiculous I was acting.  Thank goodness for CHOICES!

Glad that you’ve been able to embrace the choices you have!

I have some words I always keep in the back of my mind to help my in my life.
‘You can always, every day, make a choice to live. Make a choice to be better, make a choice to try’. Nothing ever gets better for not trying.’What ca I do to make people around me feeling better about them selfs?’ I figure the effort you put into your relationsships gives you a head-start when things are being harder.

And this by my late grand-pa
‘Everything will be alright, in its time’
I choose to interpet this qoute like this: Best solutions are given when you’ve given it a good thought.
