5 Things I’m Taking off my To Do List

A post for Trust 30 … a 30-day writing challenge I’m participating in.

Today’s Prompt:

Life wastes itself while we are preparing to live. – Ralph Waldo Emerson

If you had one week left to live, would you still be doing what you’re doing now? In what areas of your life are you preparing to live? Take them off your To Do list and add them to a To Stop list. Resolve to only do what makes you come alive. Bonus: How can your goals improve the present and not keep you in a perpetual “always something better” spiral? (Author: Jonathan Mead)

As I read this prompt my mind went to changes I need in my mindset. Today … not someday, I’m making every attempt to move these things from a crummy default ‘To Do’ list in my brain to a To Stop list.

  1. Feeling like not enough
  2. Comparing myself to others
  3. Judging others
  4. Shrinking responsibility
  5. Living in self or other-imposed boxes

And I’m filling the voids on my To Do list with:.

  1. Live fully alive
  2. Trusting myself more
  3. Knowing I am enough
  4. Being generous with love
  5. Allowing others to be themselves

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Is there anything on your To Do list that should be moved to your To Stop list?
      That’s a great idea … some things need to be a a ‘no more’ list.
    Wow, what  great picture and response, Janet. I wrote a quote of Mark Twain as my #Trust30 response. As a new reader of your blog, I must say I’m inspired of everything I have read so far. Thanks and bless :)
