Trust 30 – Prompt 1

The Challenge

Trust 30 is an online initiative and 30-day writing challenge being done by Seth Godin and the friendly folks at the Domino Project, that encourages you to look within and trust yourself. Use this as an opportunity to reflect on your now, and to create direction for your future. 30 prompts from inspiring thought-leaders will guide you on your writing journey.

Their Inspiration

Self-Reliance by Ralph Waldo Emerson … a book that urges readers to trust their intuition rather than conforming to the will of the majority.

Today’s Prompt:

You just discovered you have 15 Minutes to Live

1. Set a timer for fifteen minutes.
2. Write the story that has to be written.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My Response:
If I had fifteen minutes to live …
I probably won’t have time to gather my family and loved ones around me … so I would do what I do for important things.
I would write.
I would write a letter to Jerry, my husband of almost 25 years. I would make sure he knew that even though we had our differences, I not only loved him, but I liked him.
I would write each of my boys a letter. I’d spent the most time with these letters … so my boys would have something from me to read as they navigate life. I would encourage them to live life well. To explore in every sense of the word. To reach higher than they thought possible … but to remember to live fully along the way to fulfilling those dreams.
I would write a few more notes to people that are important to me. And since the online world is a part of my world … I would write a short blog post wishing the world well.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

What would you do if you found out you only had 15 minutes left to live?

    Your response was perfect here!  What a great thing to do – write letters.  You’re right-  you don’t know who will be around you if you had just a few minutes left.
