Monday’s Myth – The Myth of Someday.

Recently I’ve been keeping my ears open for the happiness-sucking-life-ruining mythical word  Someday. I’ve heard the comments below … either directly or overheard in conversations.

Someday, I’m going to …

~ get enough sleep every night

~ not be as busy

~ organize my office/room

~ save some money

~ not eat as much sugar

~ not eat as much

~ eat more vegetables

~ smoke less

~ stop smoking

~ go for regular walks

~ go biking more

~ plan a party

~ relax more

Someday …

When exactly is someday?

‎”The life of faith is lived one day at a time, and it has to be lived–not always looked forward to as though the ‘real’ living were around the next corner. It is today for which we are responsible. God still owns tomorrow.” -Elisabeth Elliot

I saw this posted on a friend’s FB and thought of your blog post. Pretty good answer to the “someday” myth!

I’m realizing that unless “someday” becomes “today,” it will almost surely become instead “never.”
