Thankful Thursday – Post 22

As I look over my past week, I am so thankful for healing, recovery and good health. While I would prefer to have the body I last had on May 19, 2004 … I am thankful how well I’ve recovered. So this Thankful Thursday, I give you some quotes from others about health.

Finish of Garden Spot Village Half-Marathon, April 9, 2011

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand – strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming “Woo hoo, what a ride!” -Anon

The preservation of health is a duty. Few seem conscious that there is such a thing as physical morality. – Herbert Spencer

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. -Paul

The best six doctors anywhere
And no one can deny it
Are sunshine, water, rest, and air
Exercise and diet.
These six will gladly you attend
If only you are willing
Your mind they’ll ease
Your will they’ll mend
And charge you not a shilling.
~ Nursery rhyme quoted by Wayne Fields

To wish to be well is a part of becoming well. – Seneca

Every human being is the author of his own health or disease.* - Buddha

Are you thankful for your health?

*While I strongly believe we have a large part to play in our health … I also recognize that sometimes forces not in our control affect our health.
