Experiences as Gifts

As I mentioned in this post … I like to give experiences as gifts.

So I was happy to hear that research proves that experiences are better than gifts (don’t you love when research backs up your ideas) I saw a clip on GMA with Dan Buettner, from Blue Zones and author of Thrive. His advice for gift-giving is:  “Buy experiences, not gifts. The thrill of new gifts soon wears off, whereas a good memory gains luster over time.”

So a cool gift might be to help someone pursue a dream.  This would not only provide a great experience, but so much more. Dream Year is a coaching program I’m in this year and it has helped move my speaking and writing endeavors forward. (so, yes I’m partial to it and I like to share good things when I find them)
