Fully Alive …

Today was a full day, then while driving home tonight I heard one of my favorite quotes while listening to the radio.

“Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” - Howard Thurman

I wondered if I had “come alive” today — I thought back over my day.

An early blog post reliving STORY from last week.

Scrambled eggs and toast for high school son.

Drive to neighbor’s house for our morning exercise. (Yes, that is an oxymoron, I should walk or bike to the neighbor, but I don’t — I drive)

Neighbor and I do five miles … walking about four and running one thankful that my injured foot is healed enough to allow me to run again.

Home: Shower – check facebook/twitter. Edit a chapter in my memoir that a friend critiqued yesterday.

Lunch with friends at favorite hometown cafe. Laughter – stories – laughter – tears – laughter – questions – laughter. (Sangria added to the fun of the lunch)

Home: Chat with college and highschool son. Ask them to clean their rooms before they head out for weekend activities (it didn’t happen)

Head to local conference 7 Women – 7 Stories, hosted by Anne Beiler.  Meet new people, get inspired. Headed back to conference tomorrow.

Drive home and hear my favorite quote: “Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” - Howard Thurman

Yes — it’s been a good-fully-alive day!

Did you have a fully-alive day? What makes you come fully alive?
